We have an opportunity for a commercially minded business development professional to join us as a Pitch Executive. Working as part of our International Pitch Team, you'll be central to delivering outstanding bid and work winning support to our global network. You'll help us to win major cross-border, cutting-edge opportunities, and play a vital role in the firm's growth. Sitting within our Marketing and Business Development function, our International Pitch Team's mission is really simple; we are here to help the firm to win some of the most exciting opportunities in the legal market.

You'll be working with colleagues who have won some very big contracts - both inside and outside of the legal industry - and with senior stakeholders across the firm, from partners and pricing teams through to subject matter experts. You'll support with continuously improving our bid strategy and approach, coaching wider members of the firm in bidding best practice, and identifying new ways to collaborate with other teams. All of this will contribute to our overall mission to win new work and strengthen and deepen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage, create, and deliver bids and tenders, with support from the wider pitch team.
  • Proactively work with colleagues across the firm to deliver outstanding responses to client requests for proposals.
  • Research opportunities and clients using the firm's research tools to inform work winning strategies and tailored approaches to bidding.
  • Produce high-quality, on-brand client-facing documents.
  • Contribute fresh content to our bid library, working with colleagues in other teams e.g. D&I, Legal Technology, and Sustainability, to write relevant and up-to-date content for use in bids and business development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the pitch team's reporting mechanisms and general infrastructure, to ensure a streamlined and data-driven approach.
  • Support the delivery of work winning training to MBD department and wider firm.
  • Support the Pitch Team's internal communication strategy to share knowledge, best-practice and case studies from the Pitch Team with the wider firm.
  • Use the firm's CRM system to update opportunities, wins, losses and learnings from the bids we work on.
  • Run post-bid debrief sessions with the client and other stakeholders, to identify lessons learned and continuous improvement of our pitch function.
What you'll bring
  • Experience in pitching, bidding and/or business development.
  • Prior experience of supporting across the end-to-end bid process to a wide variety of clients across the private and public sector.
  • Experience of working with varied, international teams and stakeholders, and producing work for international clients.
  • An ability to understand clients' priorities and objectives and show sensitivity to culture and personalities.
  • You're a skilled project manager who can handle multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • You're a good writer, editor and proofreader and can express complex ideas simply.
