Being exposed to a wide variety of queries and situations over an established learning programme, you'll need to demonstrate a propensity for organisation and a keen attention to detail. This role primarily involves managing time‑sensitive, team‑critical business acceptance related queries that come into our centralised inbox, and as you progress, learning to identify and resolve technical & commercial conflicts or CDD & financial crime related issues. The Global Business Acceptance team supports Bird & Bird's ambitious growth plans by ensuring our goals are achieved in a way that aligns with our strategy and protects our brand. We do this every day through trusted, respected advisory work in technical & commercial conflicts, financial crimes, sanctions and reputational risk. With over 60 team members across Hong Kong, the UAE and the UK, dealing daily with queries across 30+ offices in 23 jurisdictions, we truly embody our team's global name.

Our UK Business Acceptance team is currently comprised of 45+ individuals, so you'll be joining a well‑established team structure playing a strategically important role in strengthening Bird & Bird's presence worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse daily business acceptance issues and proactively seek solutions that meet firm policy and high service standards.
  • Support the Global Business Acceptance team with queries, including those outside your remit, to ensure the firm's needs are met and the global team operates smoothly.
  • Manage your own workload and coordinate with teammates to prioritise queries effectively.
  • Foster an environment of inclusion and growth that promotes high‑quality work and commerciality.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Global Business Acceptance team, Risk & Compliance department, and the wider firm on a daily basis.
  • Proactively seek learning opportunities and develop technical and non‑technical skillsets relevant to the role.
  • Provide feedback to management to contribute to the continuous development of policies, frameworks, procedures, guidance and systems.
  • Work in the London office at least three days per week.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in Business Acceptance, Risk & Compliance or a similar function within a law firm, financial or corporate firm.

  • Curiosity, a strong commitment to continuous learning and a willingness to expand knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an approachable mindset.
  • Flexibility, ability to handle competing priorities and adapt to changing approaches and requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in various forms and styles.
  • Team‑player spirit and collaborative mindset.

What's In It For You

  • Comprehensive support for health and well‑being, including private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover and regular health assessments.
  • Lifestyle benefits such as a cycle‑to‑work scheme, access to online GP appointments, discounted gym memberships and an electric vehicle scheme.
