Over time you will learn to identify and resolve technical, commercial conflicts or CDD and financial crime related issues, spot and upscale reputational risk concerns, get involved in workstreams outside your normal scope of work and contribute to an environment that promotes well-being and development for all team members.

Our Global Business Acceptance team supports Bird & Bird’s growth plans, protecting the brand by providing trusted advice in technical and commercial conflicts, financial crimes, sanctions, and reputational risk. With over 60 members across Hong Kong, the UAE and the UK, we handle queries from our 30+ offices in 23 jurisdictions. The UK Business Acceptance team is currently comprised of 45+ individuals, and you will play a strategically important role in strengthening Bird & Bird’s global presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster an inclusive, growth-oriented culture focused on high-quality work and commerciality.
  • Collaborate with Global Business Acceptance peers, Risk & Compliance colleagues and other firm members on a daily basis.
  • Seek out learning opportunities and maintain a willingness to develop relevant technical and non-technical skillsets.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the team’s policies, frameworks, procedures, guidance and systems through regular feedback.
  • Participate in workstreams outside your normal scope in line with management strategy; London office attendance at least three days per week.
What You’ll Bring
  • Previous experience in Business Acceptance, Risk & Compliance or a similar function in a law firm or professional services, financial, or corporate firm.
  • Experience and ability to escalate issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Driven by curiosity, continuous learning, and a willingness to expand knowledge and skills within the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an approachable mindset.
  • Flexibility to deal with competing priorities and adapt to changing approaches and requirements.
  • Strong communication skills across various forms and styles.
  • Team-player mentality.
