We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Communications Executive to join our Marketing and Business Development team. The key function of this role is to support the effective delivery of a broad range of Internal Communications projects and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day internal communications. The Internal Communications Executive will operate as part of the brand and marketing communications teams and liaise closely with MBD and other business services colleagues, lawyers and partners across the international firm. The role is ideal for an individual who is a motivated self-starter with a great eye for detail and a genuine interest and/or background in Marketing & Communications.
Bird & Bird’s Marketing & Business Development (MBD) team builds the firm’s profile, wins new work and strengthens client relationships. In London, the team comprises 60+ specialists who work closely with our international network. We are driven to provide exceptional service and lead the way in new technology and solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Write, edit and publish international and London news for the firm’s intranet and internal newsletters.
- Manage the firm’s internal content calendar and publishing processes, liaising closely with the marketing communications team to ensure internal and external messaging is aligned and consistent.
- Support other Business Services teams across the globe (D&I, ESG, HR and IT) in delivering engaging and streamlined content and messaging.
- Maintain the firm’s intranet homepage and marketing intranet pages.
- Measure and report on internal communications campaigns.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm’s brand and tone of voice, advising and supporting colleagues on best practices.
- Support the delivery of a range of other corporate communication materials and projects as required.
- Attention to detail, a ‘can-do’ approach, approachability, flexibility, and a practical/common-sense manner.
- Methodical and with a structured, process-driven mentality.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of different cultures and their way of working.
- Ability to work closely with colleagues at all levels.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Engage, Excel).
- Experience with HTML is useful.
- Experience working in a professional services firm (desirable).
