Birchwood Group is a forward-looking company with retail stores, workshops and facilities based across the south coast of Sussex and Hampshire. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Technician to join our team at our busy workshop facilities at Kia Washington.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Carry out vehicle servicing and repairs
- Carry out basic diagnosis of vehicle faults
- Repair and rectify electrical and mechanical defects consistently to a high standard of workmanship
- Follow manufacturers recommended repair processes
- Carry out electronic vehicle health checks combined with video evidence
- Complete all associated administration including repair write-ups and warranty claim information
- Liaise with After-Sales Advisors and work as part of a team
- Carry out mandatory manufacturer training as and when required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a vehicle technician in diagnostics, repairs, and servicing
- Minimum IMI level 3 (or equivalent)
- MOT qualified is a benefit
- Electric vehicle diagnostic and repair qualifications desirable but not essential
- Full valid UK driving license (required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and able to manage tasks efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail
Package:
- Salary: £32,000-£35,000 (OTE £38,000-OTE £41,000) dependent on experience
- Hours: 42.5 hours average per week, Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00, Saturdays 8:00-12:00 (1 in 3 on rota)
- Holiday: 22 days per year + bank holidays
- Benefits: Health cash plan and perks, Employee Assistance Programme, company pension, subsidised vehicle purchase and aftersales scheme (upon completion of probation)
