Are you a selling Team Leader, either currently or in the making, either in bikes, cars or a similar retail industry? Birchwood Group is a forward-looking company with retail stores, workshops and facilities based across the south coast of Dorset and Hampshire. Destination Motorcycles is a powerful motorcycle brand specialising in high-performance machines from top brands including Triumph, KTM, Gas Gas, Husqvarna, MV Agusta. We provide an exceptional customer experience and great products that cater to motorcycle enthusiasts of all kinds.
Reporting to the Head of Motorcycles, as the Destination Motorcycles – Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the New bike department runs efficiently, supports various target achievements, makes sure stock is ordered and available for sale and display as well as assisting all aspects of team leadership, administration and marketing support. In short, assist the Head of Motorcycles and become a successful New bike brand team leader!
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the functionality of the New bike department as an independent business unit.
- Ensure the department is appropriately stocked. Also, the physical display, and on-line showroom is delivered to a high standard.
- Personally drive sales to meet budgeted levels and OEM targets, while motivating, supporting, challenging and guiding your team to do the same.
- Utilise available sales tools and techniques to ensure every customer is offered a fully protected offer with products they are eligible for.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, web imagery, and overall presentation to ensure an appealing/first class retail environment.
- Provide reports (as required) to the Head of Motorcycles.
- Ensure stock levels align with sales volume expectations, maintaining a swift turnover without excess or overage units.
- Oversee the visual presentation of the showroom and online platforms, ensuring all bikes are correctly priced and marketed to the highest standards.
- Offer leadership and support to the team, particularly during periods of absence or holiday.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and high performance.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in motorcycle sales or a related field.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Full motorcycle licence (essential).
- Familiarity with sales tools and inventory management systems.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to create relationships at all levels.
Working Hours:
Your normal hours of work will be 37/41.5 hours per week, as specified below:
- Summer Months (1st April – 30th September): Monday - Friday 08:30 - 18.00, Saturdays 08:30 – 17:00
- Winter Months (1st October – 31st March): Monday – Friday 08:30- 17:00, Saturdays 08:30 – 16:30
You will receive one day off during the week in lieu of Saturday working, with additional days off as needed for events or business demands.
Location: South Coast/Dorset
Salary: £27,000 Basic + generous commission pay plan
