Birchwell Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-growing construction company with a strong presence across London and the South East. With a solid pipeline of work and a reputation for quality delivery, our client is now looking to expand their solar division by appointing experienced Solar PV Maintenance Engineers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation working at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of Solar PV systems across a diverse portfolio, including high-end residential properties, education facilities, and commercial and industrial sites. You will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, delivering high standards of workmanship while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Install, service, and maintain Solar PV systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and reactive repairs on PV systems and battery storage solutions
- Complete system upgrades and improvement works to a high standard
- Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on inverters, modules, and associated electrical components
- Lead works on site while maintaining productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and ensure strict adherence to health & safety procedures
- Accurately complete all job-related documentation including service reports, timesheets, and work records
- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Inspection & Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year experience installing and maintaining Solar PV systems
- Solar PV and/or EESS qualifications
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Solid technical understanding of PV systems, inverters, panels, and mounting systems
- ECS Gold Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- SSSTS certification
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- Experience working across commercial or education sites
- Highly professional and client-focused
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
- Flexible approach with a positive, can-do attitude
- Strong communicator with a high standard of workmanship
- Competitive salary: £35,000 - £46,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates (time and a half evenings/Saturdays, double time Sundays & Bank Holidays)
