Birchwell Associates are recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join an established renewable energy business delivering Solar PV projects across the UK. The role will involve a mix of Solar PV installation, planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, monitoring and performance improvement across renewable energy sites. The position is based from Wadebridge, Cornwall, with travel to sites across the UK.
The Role
- Carry out LV electrical design and installation for Solar PV projects
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance across renewable energy sites
- Diagnose and respond to electrical and Solar PV faults
- Support remote monitoring of operational sites, including rota/weekend cover
- Analyse system performance and identify improvements
- Produce technical reports and maintenance records
- Support commissioning and ongoing operation of renewable energy assets
- Travel to sites across the UK when required
Essential Requirements
- City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 & 3, or higher
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent inspection & testing qualification
- 18th Edition BS 7671
- Minimum 5 years electrical industry experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Good computer literacy
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Methodical and process-focused approach
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK
- Flexibility for evening and weekend work where required
Desirable
- Solar PV installation experience
- Solar PV maintenance / O&M experience
- Renewable energy experience
- Experience setting up and configuring communications equipment
- HV design, installation or maintenance experience
- Inverter manufacturer training
