Birchstone Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team at Nayland House. The successful candidate will support the Home Manager in providing strong and sensitive leadership to our care and ancillary teams, ensuring that our residents live in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Home Manager in maintaining high standards of care in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines.
- Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Manage administrative records and ensure compliance with local authority standards.
- Oversee medication processes and maintain up-to-date training.
- Facilitate annual registration inspections and implement recommendations.
- Manage staff rotas and ensure adequate cover at all times.
- Support the recruitment, supervision, and performance management of staff.
- Conduct probationary reviews and annual appraisals for care and support staff.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, social services, residents, and their families.
- Ensure residents' needs are met with sensitivity, promoting dignity, independence, and safety.
- Develop and review care plans and risk assessments.
- Assist in the financial management of the home, including budget preparation and expenditure management.
- Promote a welcoming and professional environment for residents, relatives, and visitors.
Qualifications and Skills:
