We're looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our welcoming care home, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting our residents, families, and staff while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

As the first point of contact, you'll provide a warm and professional welcome to visitors, manage telephone and email enquiries, and support the Home Manager with a wide range of administrative duties.

You'll assist with recruitment administration, staff records, rota and holiday management, filing, resident and relative communications, and help coordinate events and surveys.

You'll also ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and contribute to creating a positive, well-organised environment for everyone.

If you're an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a compassionate, can-do attitude, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in an administrative or office support role (care or healthcare experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to learn new systems quickly.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records and documentation.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Friendly, approachable, and committed to providing excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant care home administration systems (e. g. Cool Care and rota management systems).
  • Experience supporting recruitment and HR administration.
