Opportunity for a Planning Associate to join a highly regarded Planning team at a leading international law firm on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis.

The firm is a globally recognised law firm with a market-leading reputation across a broad range of practice areas and sectors. With an extensive international platform and offices across key financial and commercial centres worldwide, the firm advises major corporates, institutions, developers and investors on complex, high-value matters. The firm’s London real estate group is particularly well regarded and works on some of the UK’s most innovative and high-profile development and infrastructure projects. Their Planning team is recognised in the Legal 500 and sits within a highly successful and growing real estate practice.

The opportunity involves working closely with the Head of Planning and wider real estate team on a broad range of high-quality planning matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious associate seeking exposure to complex development work within a lean and growing team structure.

The role will involve:

  • Negotiating section 106 agreements for large-scale mixed-use developments
  • Advising on infrastructure agreements and strategic planning matters
  • Advising on Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and heritage constraints
  • Supporting the transactional real estate team on planning due diligence and documentation
  • Advising on a range of development and infrastructure projects including urban regeneration, life sciences, prime office developments, offshore wind and residential-led schemes

Required:

  • UK qualified Solicitor or foreign qualified lawyer with several years’ London-based UK planning law experience
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years’ PQE upwards
  • Strong private practice experience is essential
  • Experience gained at a comparable City or international law firm preferred
  • Available to start at short notice, with a maximum 1 month notice period
