Opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a Tier 1 Media & Entertainment firm with a market-leading Music practice. The firm is a dynamic and highly respected London-based law firm with a strong reputation across the media, entertainment and creative industries. Combining deep sector expertise with full-service legal capabilities, the firm is known for delivering commercial, innovative and tailored advice to clients operating at every level of the music industry. The firm is recognised by leading independent legal directories for its expertise in the entertainment sector and is known for its collaborative culture, high-quality work and entrepreneurial approach.

The firm is now seeking a Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Music Group. The team acts for major and independent labels, publishers, major worldwide artists, emerging talent, songwriters, producers and digital music platforms on a broad range of commercial, transactional and advisory matters within the music sector.

The role will involve:

  • Drafting and negotiating recording, distribution, publishing, management and production agreements
  • Advising on live events, touring and performance-related matters
  • Supporting clients on merchandising, sponsorship, endorsement and branding arrangements
  • Advising on content licensing and commercial agreements for digital music services and platforms
  • Assisting with the acquisition, exploitation and licensing of music rights across film, television, gaming and theatre projects
  • Providing corporate and business structuring advice to clients operating within the music industry
  • Advising on broader commercial and intellectual property matters relevant to music businesses and talent

Required:

  • UK qualified Solicitor with approximately 4 - 8 years’ PQE
  • Strong experience within music, media, entertainment, intellectual property or wider commercial practice
  • Experience gained within a recognised private practice firm or relevant in-house environment
  • Commercially minded with a genuine understanding of the music industry and the challenges facing the sector
