The opportunity

The firm is seeking a Partner to establish and lead its tax offering, working closely alongside highly regarded Partners within their Real Estate and Corporate teams.

This represents a rare opportunity to join a successful and growing firm at a strategic level, building a dedicated tax practice while benefiting from an existing flow of work generated by established Real Estate and Corporate teams.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the Corporate team on corporation tax, capital gains tax and wider corporate tax issues
  • Advising on tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals, developments, financing transactions and corporate deals
  • Drafting and negotiating tax provisions within transactional documentation
  • Developing and leading the firm's tax offering as part of its long-term growth strategy

Required

  • UK qualified Solicitor with minimum 8 years’ PQE (Senior Tax Lawyer or existing Tax Partner)
  • Strong technical expertise across property tax matters including VAT and SDLT
  • Experience advising on corporate tax issues and transactional matters
  • Demonstrable business development experience and an existing client following, ideally around £450,000, although this is flexible for the right individual
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to play a key role in the growth of a developing practice area

Reasons to apply

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience, practice profile and following
  • Opportunity to establish and lead a dedicated tax practice within a respected commercial law firm
  • Clear and realistic progression pathway to equity
  • Supportive, entrepreneurial and non-hierarchical culture
  • High-quality client base spanning institutional, corporate and entrepreneurial clients
  • Flexible hybrid working model
