The Firm
Our client is a highly regarded Global law firm with a strong reputation across its core practice areas and a collaborative, forward-thinking culture. With a well-established London presence and a clear strategic vision for growth, the firm is now seeking a Senior HR Manager to join its People & Talent Development team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Opportunity
This is a senior HR Business Partner role supporting the Disputes and Corporate & Commercial Practice Groups. Acting as a trusted adviser to the Group Leaders (who sit on the firm's board) and Partner Team Leads, the Senior HR Manager will lead on all people-related matters across the groups.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Group Leaders to shape and deliver people strategy, workforce planning and development plans
- Acting as a senior, credible adviser to Partners on complex and sensitive people matters
- Leading annual performance, promotion, salary and bonus review processes, ensuring consistency and appropriate challenge
- Driving talent management and succession planning initiatives aligned to firm strategy
- Overseeing headcount planning and tracking against budget
- Managing and resolving a broad range of employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Providing commercially focused employment law advice and coordinating external legal input where required
- Supporting change management and restructuring activity
- Line managing and developing a Senior People Executive
- Collaborating closely with Recruitment, Learning & Development, and People Operations teams
- Leading and contributing to firmwide People projects
- Embedding inclusive people practices and supporting delivery of the firm's DEIB strategy
Requirements
- Significant experience operating as a Senior HR Business Partner within a professional services environment (legal sector advantageous)
- Strong understanding of partnership structures and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent employment law knowledge with experience handling complex ER matters
- Proven experience managing cyclical HR processes such as salary and promotion reviews
- Experience line managing or developing HR team members
