The Opportunity
The firm’s high-achieving Business Development & Marketing team, recently shortlisted for a prestigious industry award, is looking for a Senior Bids & BD Executive. Reporting to the Head of BD & Marketing, you will take ownership of the firm’s bids and pitch process while providing proactive BD support across various practice areas and sectors.
As part of a collaborative eight-person team, you will:
- Own and continually improve the firm’s bids and pitch process, acting as the central point of coordination and quality control.
- Produce and refine high-quality, persuasive proposals tailored to specific client opportunities.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of submissions, ensuring they are compelling, on-brand, and fully compliant with client criteria.
- Build and maintain a strong bank of credentials, case studies, and bid materials to support efficiency.
- Use data and CRM insights to inform targeting, pipeline decisions, and international referral reporting.
- Support client development initiatives, including Key Account Management (KAM) and client listening exercises.
- Collaborate with Partner teams to develop strategies that convert prospects into long-term clients.
This is a high-impact role offering the chance to deliver positive change by embedding best practice and owning a critical area of business development. The position is based in London with a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).
Requirements
- At least five years’ experience in a bids/proposals or BD role with significant bid responsibility, ideally within a partnership or legal environment.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end bids and pitches with exceptional writing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence partners and drive contributors to meet tight deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to translate technical legal content into persuasive client-facing messaging.
- Excellent IT skills, with experience using CRM or proposal automation tools being highly desirable.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with an eye for design and quality control.
