Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a Contracts Manager to join the firm’s Risk Management / General Counsel team on a permanent basis.

The opportunity is with a highly regarded international law firm with a significant global presence, recognised for its collaborative culture, innovative approach, and strong reputation within the legal sector. The firm is looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to take responsibility for the management, negotiation, and oversight of supplier contracts across the UK business. Working closely with Legal Counsel, Procurement, Information Security, Data Privacy and senior business stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the full contract lifecycle whilst supporting the firm's supplier governance and risk management framework. This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of supplier agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, IT services, outsourcing and professional services contracts
  • Managing the full lifecycle of supplier contracts, including implementation, renewals, amendments and terminations
  • Advising internal stakeholders on contractual terms, commercial considerations and associated risks
  • Working closely with Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure contracts appropriately address data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property and service level requirements
  • Leading supplier due diligence processes and maintaining associated documentation and questionnaires
  • Managing and developing the firm's contract management system, including monitoring key contractual deadlines and obligations
  • Supporting the procurement function and promoting best practice contract management processes across the business
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple business functions and jurisdictions within a global environment
  • Supporting training initiatives relating to procurement systems, contract management processes and supplier governance
  • Managing procurement-related enquiries and contract requests through the firm's intake processes

Requirements

  • Significant experience in contract management, commercial contracts or procurement
  • UK law degree (or Commonwealth equivalent)
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a range of commercial agreements
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data processing agreements and wider supplier governance considerations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability
  • Experience using contract management systems and procurement platforms
  • Experience reviewing technology, SaaS and IT supplier contracts would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of AI-related supplier agreements and associated legal risks would be beneficial
  • Previous experience within a law firm, professional services environment or large corporate organisation would be advantageous
