Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Conflicts Lawyer to join its global Conflicts & New Business team in London on a permanent basis.

The Firm

Our client is a leading US international law firm with a global footprint and a reputation for advising clients on complex, high-value matters across a broad range of sectors. The London office offers a collegiate and collaborative environment, with the Conflicts & New Business team working closely with colleagues across the firm's international offices.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join the firm's global Conflicts & New Business Department as a Conflicts Lawyer. The successful candidate will provide specialist legal and commercial advice on conflicts clearance and new business intake, working directly with Partners and senior stakeholders across the firm's international offices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and analysing escalated conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts of interest and business issues
  • Conducting detailed corporate and regulatory research using external databases and online resources to verify new clients and matter parties
  • Preparing comprehensive Conflicts Summaries for Partners
  • Advising on conflict waivers, ethical screens and internal clearances
  • Reviewing and approving New Business Forms
  • Providing practical advice and guidance to Partners, Associates and support teams on new business intake policies and procedures
  • Drafting engagement letters, conflict waivers and ethical screens where required
  • Supporting the onboarding of lateral Partners and Associates
  • Advising on new business intake policy and procedural matters across multiple jurisdictions

This Conflicts Lawyer position is a full-time, permanent opportunity, working 9:30am - 5:30pm, offering a competitive salary, alongside an excellent benefits package.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer admitted to a recognised bar or law society
  • Previous experience in conflicts or new business intake within a US or large international law firm (Desired)
