The Firm
Our client, a leading law firm, boasts a Finance team that is integral to the firm's strategy, reflecting a significant level of investment and engagement from senior leadership. They continue to grow and are involved in exciting and innovative initiatives.
The Opportunity
The firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Client Cashier to join their dedicated legal cashiering function. This role is part of a close-knit team, offering the chance to provide high-quality support and respond to the changing needs and priorities of the department.
You will:
- Handle the allocation and posting of all client fund receipts received via online banking
- Process payments out of all client funds, including online banking and cheque payments
- Execute client to client transfers and foreign currency transactions
- Manage client to office transfers for bill settlements when necessary
- Deal with interest calculations (both manual and automatic)
- Process the opening, closing, and maintenance of joint accounts
- Liaise promptly with the bank and effectively handle ad hoc queries from Partners, Associates, and Secretaries/PAs
This is a key support role for the firm's financial operations, allowing a personable and confident individual to build relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8 years of legal cashiering experience is required
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Rules is essential
- Excellent technical skills are expected, with a preference for experience using Aderant, but experience with CMS or Elite is also considered
- Ability to effectively manage an individual workload while working collaboratively as part of a team
- A resilient, calm under pressure, and adaptable approach is necessary
- Must be pro-active and able to take initiative
