Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping and strengthening the bank's Enterprise Risk Framework while providing second-line oversight across financial, prudential, market and operational risks.

As this is a newly created role, you'll have the opportunity to help shape both the position and the future direction of the Risk function.

The Role

You'll work closely with senior executives and Board Committees, providing independent challenge, oversight and risk assurance across the organisation.

Responsibilities will include

  • Supporting the development and continual enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Providing second-line oversight across financial, prudential, market and operational risks.
  • Reviewing and challenging ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Planning and other regulatory submissions.
  • Supporting Risk Appetite development, monitoring and reporting.
  • Overseeing operational resilience, outsourcing and third-party risk management.
  • Leading stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Developing strong working relationships with the PRA, FCA and Internal Audit.
  • Presenting risk information to Executive and Board Committees.

About You

  • We're keen to hear from experienced Risk professionals who can demonstrate:
  • Significant second-line Risk experience gained within a UK regulated banking environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PRA and FCA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience across financial, prudential, market and operational risk.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the confidence to provide constructive challenge at Executive and Board level.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk.

Why Apply?

This organisation offers something genuinely different.

In addition to working for a values-driven employer that is committed to making a positive social impact, you'll benefit from:

  • A genuine four-day working week with full-time salary.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Generous pension.
  • Life assurance.
  • Excellent annual leave entitlement.
  • A collaborative and supportive culture where your contribution is valued.

If you're looking for a role where you can influence strategy, work closely with senior leadership and help shape the future of Risk within a growing regulated organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
