Birch Airfield Composting Services LTD is a well-established green waste open windrow compost site based near Colchester, Essex. We are currently recruiting a Plant Operator who has had previous experience with Recycling or Waste Management machinery, to join our team.
The key roles of the Plant Operator are to operate a 360 excavator to both turn windrows and screen compost in a trommel screener. Our Plant Operator will also be required to load lorries with compost using a loading shovel.
Other responsibilities of the Plant Operator include:
- Assist with the maintenance of machinery and site repairs
- Always ensure a safe working environment
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experienced 360 excavator and loading shovel operator
- Good communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English
- Be practical and hands on
- Be competent and reliable
- Have a pro-active attitude
- Aware of Health and Safety regulation and environmental compliances
- Be prepared to work overtime and weekends as necessary
- Excellent timekeeper
