About the Role
As a Senior Consultant within our Climate Strategy team, you will play a leading role in the delivery of complex sustainability and climate advisory projects for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will provide strategic advice and technical expertise across climate strategy, net zero planning and decarbonisation, helping organisations navigate evolving regulatory, investor and stakeholder expectations. Working alongside our engineering, data and change management specialists, you will support clients in developing and implementing credible climate transition strategies.
Key areas of delivery include:
- Net zero target setting in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Corporate Standard and sector‑specific guidance, including Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG), Buildings and Financial Institutions.
- Development of costed decarbonisation roadmaps and climate strategies.
- Design and delivery of Climate Transition Plans.
- Strategic advice relating to greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate disclosures and climate risk management.
- Supporting clients in translating climate ambitions into practical implementation plans.
In addition to project delivery, you will contribute to business development activities, service innovation, thought leadership and the continued growth of Bip.Verco's Climate Strategy practice. The role is flexible in location, with an expectation of regular collaboration from one of our UK offices. Some travel to client sites and other Bip.Verco offices may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within client accounts.
- Support cross‑selling of Bip.Verco's broader sustainability and consulting capabilities.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders.
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to a high standard.
- Lead project teams and coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary specialists.
- Maintain effective project governance, reporting and stakeholder management.
- Ensure high‑quality technical outputs and client deliverables.
Technical Expertise
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of climate strategy, net zero frameworks and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Apply expertise across sectors including manufacturing, construction, real estate and private equity.
- Provide strategic and analytical support on climate‑related topics including emissions reduction, transition planning and disclosure requirements.
Business Development
- Support sector‑led growth initiatives and targeted business development activities.
- Develop proposals, presentations and client pitches.
- Deliver webinars, thought leadership and market‑facing activities.
- Contribute to achieving team revenue and growth objectives.
Service Development & Thought Leadership
- Support the development of new services and methodologies in response to market, policy and regulatory developments.
- Contribute to thought leadership, publications and marketing content.
- Represent Bip.Verco at industry events and networking opportunities.
Team Development
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
- Support capability development across the Climate Strategy team.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate project management, financial and operational records.
- Support invoicing, forecasting, timesheet completion and internal reporting requirements.
- Adhere to company policies, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
Sustainability & CSR
- Contribute to Bip.Verco's sustainability objectives and corporate social responsibility initiatives where appropriate.
What You Bring
Education & Qualifications
Essential- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Economics, Sustainability, or a related discipline with strong quantitative and analytical foundations.
- Master's degree or relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ISEP).
- Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ).
Professional Experience
Essential- Experience within a sustainability, environmental or management consulting environment.
- Delivery of complex projects and programmes to agreed timescales and budgets.
- Client relationship management and business development experience.
- Proposal development and bid management experience.
- Advising organisations on strategic climate risks and opportunities.
- Experience within financial services, private equity, investment management or corporate finance environments.
Knowledge & Technical Expertise
Essential- Strong understanding of climate science, decarbonisation pathways and net zero strategy.
- Practical experience applying frameworks such as SBTi, GHG Protocol and/or PCAF.
- Experience supporting clients in one or more of our core sectors:
- Manufacturing
- Construction & Real Estate
- Private Equity
- Scope 3 and value chain emissions accounting.
- Climate risk assessment and adaptation planning.
- Climate scenario analysis and modelling.
- Exposure to enterprise risk management or organisational change programmes.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with senior client stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Power Query, Power BI or similar analytical tools.
- Practical application of AI tools within consulting, project delivery and sustainability analysis.
