  • Ensure contracts are commercially robust, proportionate to risk, and aligned with BIP’s strategic and financial objectives.
  • Drive consistency, quality and efficiency in contracting processes across the UK business.

Partnerships & Collaboration Agreements

  • Negotiate and manage collaboration and partnership agreements with third parties, alliances and strategic partners.
  • Ensure agreements support long‑term value creation, innovation and mutually beneficial relationships.

Dispute Resolution & Commercial Advice

  • Oversee disputes arising from commercial contracts, advising on resolution strategies including negotiation, mediation and litigation where required.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic advice to the business on contentious commercial issues.

Commercial Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across the UK business.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on the commercial implications of business decisions, growth initiatives and new offerings.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, manage and develop the Commercial contracts team, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative and commercially focused culture.
  • Coach and mentor team members, building capability and confidence in handling complex commercial matters.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Legal, Finance HR, consulting teams and Group stakeholders to embed commercial considerations into day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategy.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders across the firm.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and governance requirements relating to commercial contracts.
  • Support the continuous improvement of policies, frameworks and controls.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • IACCM Advanced Practitioner qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience in commercial contracts, corporate and employment‑related matters within a complex organisation.
  • Strong track record of negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts, including client, supplier and partnership agreements.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing a small commercial or contracts team.
  • Proven ability to identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leadership.
  • Practical, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to provide clear, actionable commercial advice.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment with competing priorities.
