We are now seeking an experienced garment and accessories technologist to join our already successful team. Working on childrenswear, ladies & men’s garments and accessories, the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Advise and guide teams on the global testing standards.
  • Work closely with Sales, Merchandisers, and designers regarding sample requirements and follow up on handover styles.
  • Risk assess styles and designs with designers/sales based on customer requirements, thereafter implement changes agreed.
  • Ensure products adhere to UK/EU/US regulations for testing requirements and compliance.
  • Organising seal samples with factories and completing paperwork/measurements before submitting for customer approval.
  • Share customer amendment details and approvals with the factories, work with sales to ensure concerns are flagged.
  • Arrange Testing for each customer need, including working on customer portals.
  • Provide the testing requirements to the ICO teams to follow up and drive the critical path timelines. Also arrange re-testing when needed due to failures and customer expectations.
  • Licensing samples need to be arranged for approval and to coordinate with factories and Licensing team to provide correct sample numbers.
  • Ensuring license and customer details are correct on all production packaging.
  • Follow through each order and update critical paths, highlight any concerns with the teams, and attend critical path meetings ensuring to follow up on actions discussed.
  • Chase factories for PP/Gold seal samples and chase customers for approvals.
  • Maintain up to date paperwork and ensure the work of the department is fully documented/logged.
  • Complete in-house wash testing garments for internal due diligence requirements.
  • Liaise with in-country office and the Far East factories to ensure they understand what is required.
  • Ensure samples delivered are checked, logged, stored, and processed. Rotation of samples to be managed and ensuring they are tagged based on requirements set.

The ideal candidate must have extensive testing experience and the ability to manage manuals. They should have a relevant qualification in fashion, clothing, or textiles and at least 3 years’ experience in the industry. The candidate should be highly motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, responsible, well-organised, a team player, and hands-on. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office is also required.
