This is a position for a Technical Writer who creates, maintains, and refines high-quality documentation that empowers users and supports the success of our innovative radiology solutions. The role involves close collaboration with developers, product teams, clinicians, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical and clinical concepts into clear, accessible content—including user guides, online help, tutorials, developer resources, and release notes. It plays a critical part in ensuring intuitive product adoption, regulatory compliance, and efficient internal processes in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities- Product Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to gain a deep understanding of our products and identify documentation needs.
- Content Production: Produce clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate documentation that meets industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, data protection, and medical software guidelines).
- User-Facing Materials: Write and edit user-facing materials, including technical manuals, online help systems, UI text, step-by-step tutorials, and training resources for radiologists, IT administrators, and end-users.
- Developer Resources: Develop and maintain developer guides, API documentation, and internal technical resources.
- Release Notes: Create and update release notes that accurately detail new features, enhancements, and fixes for each software release.
- Content Optimization: Analyze existing content for opportunities to improve reuse, single-sourcing, and consistency across documentation sets.
- Simplification: Simplify complex technical and clinical information into easy-to-understand language, incorporating visuals where appropriate.
- Agile Delivery: Manage multiple documentation tasks within Agile sprints, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with product roadmaps.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all documentation adheres to information security policies, supports ISO 27001 compliance, and preserves the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets.
- Security Reporting: Report any suspected security or policy violations to IT and Compliance teams.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools.
- Experience Level: 4+ years of proven experience in technical writing, preferably for software products, SaaS platforms, or medical/clinical applications.
- Concept Mastery: Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex technical and domain-specific concepts (e.g., medical imaging, PACS, DICOM workflows) and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences.
- Communication Excellence: Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a strong command of grammar, style, and clarity.
- Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with documentation tools and workflows: Git (including Git Bash), Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Core Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and enthusiasm for contributing to innovative healthcare technology.
- Location & Eligibility: Must be located in the UK with the right to work in the UK.
- Agile & Cloud: Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Azure or cloud technologies.
- Specialized Tools: Knowledge of LaTeX and Qualio.
- Domain Exposure: Prior exposure to clinical applications, healthcare IT, medical software standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7), or regulated environments (highly preferred).
- Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Communication, Life Sciences, or equivalent.
