We are a fast growing, pioneering and ethical business who take pride in sharing our delicious and super healthy range of gut-friendly products with the increasingly health-conscious UK consumer. We are looking for a first-class Specification & Artwork Technologist who is passionate and ambitious, a self-starter with a love of all things food and health. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of specification structure, artwork elements and approval systems, UK/EU food law, and labelling regulations. A confident structured communicator with best-in-class stakeholder engagement and cross-functional working.

Responsibilities- Create, update, and manage finished product, raw material, and packaging specifications.
- Ensure packaging, labelling, and artwork are correct and comply with current food safety legislation and customer standards.
- Maintain and upload technical product data into major retailer web-based portals.
- Liaise with New Product Development (NPD), Procurement, and Commercial teams to support product launches.
- Manage required specification documentation and traceability for co-packing partners.
- Represent the Biotiful Product Team at external customer meetings and trade events.
- Build and maintain close relationships with all stakeholders, including co-packing partners and key external customers.
- Provide support across the Product Team in dealing with information requests, complaints, and data compliance management.
- Degree in Food Science, Technology, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous experience (min 5 years) in a technical or specification role, ideally within a food manufacturing or retail environment.
- Proficiency with major retail specification systems (e.g., QADEX, Inspire, or retailer-specific portals).
- Established understanding of UK/EU food law, labelling regulations, and HACCP (typically Level 3).
- Is conversant with dairy ingredients and processing technology.
- Is conversant with packaging substrates, formats, and methods of manufacture.
- Is conversant with Project Management tools such as Stage & Gate.
- Has a basic awareness of fermentation and starter culture design.
- Self-starter and autonomous with excellent prioritization and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and engagement skills.
- Confident leading meetings with senior management, manufacturers, and external customers.
- Thrive under pressure in fast paced environments; be a self-starter with high energy; deliver results by translating vision into action.
- Displays drive and purpose with focus, energy, and persistence to achieve objectives.
- Sets the pace, seizing growth opportunities and owning outcomes.

- Fixed Term Contract: Initially 12 months (with possibility to extend to 18 months).

- Location: The Ark, 201 Talgarth Road, London W6 8BJ.
- Office Days: Product team is in the London office 3 days per week.
- Travel: infrequent travel to copackers/customers in the UK/EU.
