To support our rapidly growing business, we’re looking for a Group Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to our Finance Director, the Group FC will lead group-level financial control, technical accounting and treasury oversight across BioticNRG. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for consolidated reporting, statutory accounts, audit delivery, cashflow oversight and strengthening the group’s financial control environment. The GFC will act as the technical accounting escalation point, ensuring robust judgement, compliance and high-quality reporting to support Board decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Reporting & Consolidation
    • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated reporting.
    • Deliver budget vs. actual analysis and year-end forecasting.
    • Produce board‑ready insights and governance‑focused reporting.
    • Integrate new portfolio assets into group reporting structures.
  • Technical Accounting, Audit & Tax
    • Act as group technical accounting lead and escalation point.
    • Oversee statutory accounts and lead the annual audit cycle.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
    • Ensure compliance with financial reporting and taxation deadlines.
  • Cashflow & Treasury
    • Oversee 12-month rolling group cashflow forecasting.
    • Monitor liquidity, debt repayments and funding requirements.
    • Provide analysis and recommendations to the Finance Director and Board.
    • Approve bank payments in line with delegated authority controls.
  • Budgeting & Performance
    • Lead the annual operating and capex budgeting process.
    • Challenge key assumptions, unit rates and performance metrics.
    • Report group performance against budget.
    • Strengthen financial policies, controls and systems across the group.
    • Provide technical review, challenge and coaching within the finance team.
    • Support finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Build strong relationships across the Executive Team, Board and external stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • A fully qualified finance professional (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience within a multi‑entity environment.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise and audit experience.
  • Proven ability to manage, develop and challenge finance teams.
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging Board‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, compliance and business planning.
  • Desirable: Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, or asset‑based sectors.
