BioteCH4 are one of the leading AD operators in the UK, handling the collection and transportation of food waste, oils and fats recycling. We own and operate a group of anaerobic digestion facilities across the UK. Our Changing Waste, R100 Energy and Holme Bioenergy sites are located in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Oil Process Operator to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation. This role will be working 4 on 4 off shifts, 6am till 6pm.
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Tank Farm Operator is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the centrifuge and tank farm by monitoring equipment, handling feedstock, performing routine inspections, and assisting with basic maintenance tasks. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with a mechanical or operational background, especially in energy, waste, or industrial processing environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Operate de-packaging machinery consistently to optimise the oil quality for the type of waste received and plant KPI’s.
- Safe and effective running of the centrifuge and tank farm with constant monitoring, analysis and development.
- Safely and effectively tip waste from trailers, bulkers, tankers or palletised loads.
- Manage the cleanliness of the reception hall and site, cleaning up spills, raising non-conformances where required.
- Perform routine checks on tanks, digesters, and process equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Manage the weighbridge operations (out of hours and cover) accurately and effectively.
- Cover the Oil tank farm leader during absences with training and support from Plant Supervisor.
- Operate, monitor and adjust plant equipment including pumps, conveyors, mixers according to company standards.
- Safe and effective loading and unloading of feedstock materials using telehandlers, forklifts or loaders.
- Regular maintenance checks on plant equipment including clean down to company hygiene standards and effective logging of information on company systems.
- Reporting any faults or non-conformances to Plant Supervisor.
- Workplace organisation & housekeeping in the Oil Tank Farm and around the site to company standard.
- Ensuring provisions are in place to allow adherence of Animal Health & Environment Agency requirements.
- Ensuring the packaging waste within the Reception Hall goes into the correct streams for the daily skip movements.
- Achieve acceptable levels of materials processed, based on the waste delivered and daily KPI’s for the plant by operating the HMI.
- Be competent in the testing and sampling processes required at site.
- Be comfortable running the boiler system compliantly, should training be required acceptance to fulfil training requirements externally and maintain compliance standards.
