Experienced Data Architect needed to support and evolve enterprise data architecture across global platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, compliant, and high-performing data environments aligned with business strategy within a pharmaceutical environment. This is a 6 month contract, hybrid or remote flexibility (depending on location) with a chance of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance enterprise data architecture
  • Analyse and optimise data structures and performance
  • Work with global data models to map and transform data
  • Design solutions to accelerate data processing (e.g. automation, ML)
  • Support database design, requirements, and technical specs
  • Contribute to data governance and compliance
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Strong experience in data architecture and modelling
  • Experience with data modelling tools (e.g. ERwin)
  • Solid SQL skills
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, MDM, and BI
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management

Preferred

  • Experience with big data tools (e.g. Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Java/Scala
  • Knowledge of semantic data models or ontologies
  • Background in healthcare or life sciences
