We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for a leading biotechnology company in Nottinghamshire. This position is a full-time, permanent position, and the successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of Design Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate customer requirements into clear, accurate, and manufacturable engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Act as a key interface between customers, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure design requirements are understood and executed.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and drive improvements in drawing quality, standardisation, and engineering processes.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change requests, and documentation within PLM/ERP systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in design engineering or drafting within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced SolidWorks experience, including part modelling, assemblies, and technical drawing creation.
  • Strong knowledge of GD.
