We are hiring a Principal Clinical Bioinformatician to join a growing Clinical Bioinformatics team based in Slough, UK. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise in omics analysis with the ability to generate meaningful biological insights from complex clinical datasets. You will play a key role in supporting clinical assets through advanced analysis of patient-level molecular data, helping to better understand disease biology, treatment effects, and mechanisms of action.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading analysis of large-scale bulk and single-cell RNA-seq datasets from clinical studies
  • Developing bespoke bioinformatics workflows and analytical methods
  • Applying advanced interpretation approaches including pathway analysis, causal reasoning, and machine learning methods
  • Delivering reproducible, well-documented analyses using modern computational best practices
  • Communicating complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contributing to scientific publications, presentations, and cross-functional collaborations

We are looking for candidates with:

  • MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant post-study experience, ideally within biotech or pharma
  • Strong expertise in transcriptomics and multi-omics data analysis
  • Excellent programming skills in R and related bioinformatics tools
  • Experience working in Unix/HPC and cloud computing environments
  • Strong statistical, data visualisation, and scientific communication skills
  • Additional experience in spatial omics, epigenomics, proteomics, containerisation technologies, or clinical trial datasets would be highly valued.
