Key responsibilities

Define and deliver the laboratory systems and engineering strategy aligned to research and organisational goals

Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of lab technology, automation, and IT infrastructure

Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of laboratory equipment and digital systems

Partner with research leaders, IT teams, and vendors to deliver scalable, secure solutions

Identify and introduce emerging lab technologies to enhance operational efficiency and scientific capability

What you\’ll bring

Proven leadership experience managing laboratory systems, engineering, or technical infrastructure in a research‐intensive environment

Deep understanding of lab technologies, automation platforms, and scientific IT systems (e.g. LIMS, data platforms, cloud infrastructure)

Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex, large‐scale initiatives

Ability to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders

A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with a passion for enabling world‐class science
