About the Role

We are looking for a commercially focused Inside Sales Representative to join our EMEA Commercial team in Cardiff. The role is responsible for driving sales and supporting business growth across EMEA, with responsibility for promoting and growing sales of Biotage consumable products across our portfolio. Rather than being aligned to a specific geographical territory, you will develop and grow consumables sales across EMEA. You will proactively engage with existing and prospective customers, generate and follow up sales opportunities, respond to marketing leads and work closely with Account Managers to develop and maximise business opportunities. Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Field Service, you will contribute to a proactive and coordinated approach to customer engagement. The role combines direct sales activity with prospecting, lead generation, quotation preparation, pipeline management and CRM administration, while also providing sales support to Account Managers. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of three days per week onsite in our Cardiff office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for consumables products across EMEA.
  • Proactively engage with existing and prospective customers to promote Biotage consumables, develop relationships and generate new sales opportunities.
  • Manage and follow up sales and marketing leads, qualifying opportunities and progressing them through the sales pipeline.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to develop existing customer relationships, identify opportunities and maximise consumables sales.
  • Prepare customer quotations and support product demonstrations, literature and sample requests as required.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contact and opportunity information and ensure all sales activity is recorded in Salesforce.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Biotage's consumable portfolio, its applications, customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Field Service and channel partners to provide a coordinated approach to customer opportunities and enquiries.
  • Monitor market and customer developments and share relevant insights with the wider EMEA Commercial team.

About You

You will be a proactive and commercially minded individual with a strong interest in scientific products and their applications. You will enjoy engaging with customers, understanding their requirements and identifying opportunities to help them find the right solutions from the Biotage portfolio. You will be confident communicating with scientific and technical customers and able to build strong relationships across a diverse range of organisations and markets. You will combine scientific credibility with a customer-focused and results-oriented approach.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related chemical science discipline.
  • Experience in an inside sales, field sales or comparable customer-facing commercial role, preferably within the scientific, laboratory, life science or related sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with customers by telephone, email and online.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using CRM systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a regional commercial team while managing priorities and activity independently.
  • A proactive approach to lead generation, customer follow-up and developing sales opportunities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling scientific consumables, laboratory products or related technologies.
  • Knowledge or practical experience in laboratory science, analytical techniques, sample preparation, purification or other areas relevant to Biotage's product portfolio.
  • Experience working with customers across multiple EMEA markets.
  • Experience using Salesforce or another commercial CRM platform.
