We are looking for an Analytical Scientist to join our R&D team. This is a hands-on, lab-based role where you will contribute to the development and optimisation of new consumable products and analytical applications in a collaborative R&D environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary R&D team supporting a range of product development and application projects. You will carry out experimental laboratory work, generate and analyse analytical data, and contribute to the development and refinement of methods used across our consumable product portfolio.

You will work alongside experienced scientists and contribute to experimental planning, troubleshooting, and interpretation of results. Your work will help inform product performance understanding and support the creation of technical outputs such as application notes and scientific data summaries.

The role will provide exposure to a broad range of analytical techniques, including mass spectrometry and complementary laboratory methods, within a commercial R&D setting focused on real-world applications.

About You

You will have a background in analytical science and practical laboratory experience, and you will be looking to develop your expertise in a commercially focused R&D environment. You will ideally bring experience working with analytical techniques in a laboratory setting, and you may already have exposure to mass spectrometry (GC-MS and/or LC-MS), although this is not essential.

You will be comfortable working with data, following experimental procedures, and contributing to method development and troubleshooting activities. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, managing your own experimental work within defined project frameworks. You will take a structured approach to laboratory work, maintain accurate records, and communicate results clearly.

A degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Science, Clinical Science, or a related discipline will be required, along with some relevant laboratory experience gained in either industry or academia.

Why Join Us?

At Biotage, you will join a collaborative R&D team where practical science directly supports product innovation. You will gain exposure to a wide range of analytical techniques, contribute to meaningful development projects, and build strong capability in applied analytical chemistry within a supportive environment. This role offers an opportunity to further develop your scientific career while working on technologies used by laboratories around the world.
