Our Manchester site is a busy, high-energy operation, and this role sits right at the commercial heart of it. You will be responsible for growing and retaining our livestock customer base, building genuine relationships, driving sales, and ensuring every customer who deals with TMC Manchester wants to come back.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively growing the business with existing and new customers, working to agreed sales targets and objectives.
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with calling customers and ensuring every interaction with TMC is one they want to repeat.
  • Assisting customers with ordering and livestock selection, including handling special requests and follow-up calls.
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and introduce customers to new lines.
  • Handling customer issues professionally and efficiently, turning problems into retained relationships.
  • Maintaining the highest possible standard of customer service at all times.

Commercial Performance

  • Working with the UK Head of Sales to meet financial targets for sales and profitability.
  • Playing an active role in promoting sales, controlling costs, and attracting and retaining customers.
  • Maintaining strong, regular communication with the Fish House Manager to align sales goals with operational activity.
  • Supporting quality control standards, checking orders and ensuring livestock delivered to customers consistently meets our standards.

Fish House Support

  • Assisting with monitoring life support systems, tanks, and equipment to ensure correct operation and timely servicing.
  • Supporting facility cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with established cleaning regimes.
  • Monitoring water quality parameters and ensuring regular water testing is maintained across all systems.
  • Preparing for incoming livestock shipments, monitoring arrivals, recording DOA/DAA mortality, and reporting back to the Fish House Manager.
  • Providing cover in the fish house over weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

What We’re Looking For

  • A natural ability to connect with people, build trust, and develop long-term customer relationships.
  • Proven or demonstrable sales skills, confident selling, upselling, and cross-selling.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, someone who thinks creatively and takes initiative.
  • Strong livestock knowledge highly desirable; a passion for marine animals and the industry essential.
  • Professional telephone manner and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to support weekend and bank holiday rota cover as required.

Full-time, including occasional weekends and bank holidays as required. Based at our Wythenshawe, Manchester site (M22). An immediate start is available.
