At its Berlin location, Biosynth GmbH carries out contract development and manufacturing in the field of bioconjugation and polymer-based administration of active ingredients.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to start as soon as possible to acquire new customers and support existing customers. This role can be based in the UK, but with regular travel to the Berlin site.

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for Bioconjugation (GMP and non-GMP) sales with existing and new customers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Bioconjugation (GMP and non-GMP) sales with existing and new customers.
  • Lead the sales process from prospecting to closure, meetings, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Negotiate and close business opportunities.
  • Leverage existing connections and continually build a network within the industry, by actively participating in networking events, industry conferences, and professional associations to expand our business network.
  • Prospect for new customers and continue lead generation activities to identify new opportunities within the Biotech/Diagnostics/Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Develop effective sales tools, presentations, and collateral to enhance the sales process.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key clients, leveraging security expertise to understand and address their unique needs
  • Devise and implement comprehensive business strategies to drive growth and enhance market presence.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify strategic business opportunities.
  • Grow and drive sales of the bioconjugation services to achieve sales goals for the assigned territory.
  • Gather and communicate relevant market information to Site Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, including ISO and GMP as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • MSc in Chemistry and/or biotechnology. PhD preferred
  • Knowledge of bioconjugation would be desirable
  • Previous experience in business development within a CRO/CMO or pharma company resulting in a demonstrable understanding of the pharma industry.
  • Successful track record in selling of GMP products/services – preferably in drug substance.
  • Practical experience in the manufacturing of protein or bioconjugate drugs would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of protein chemistry would be preferred
  • Proven existing network in the pharma, biopharma and adjacent industry.
  • Willing to make frequent trips abroad (up to 40% – mainly US/EU) and in possession of a driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and writing command in English language.
  • Software skills, Office, SAP.

We would like someone who will have a regular presence at our site in Berlin, you can either be based in Berlin or happy with regular travel to site.
