Main Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a skilled and business-minded Corporate Staff Attorney to join our global legal team. In this role, you will provide legal support for a wide range of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and enabling business success across our global operations. You will work closely with commercial, procurement, and operational teams, advising on contract terms and negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, service, NDAs, licensing, and collaboration agreements.
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk with commercial goals.
- Assist in managing corporate governance, including entity management and board resolutions.
- Support cross-border transactions and global projects, working closely with regional and global teams.
- Advise on legal risks and contractual obligations, and assist in the resolution of contract disputes or escalations.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and legal guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with external counsel when necessary and manage legal spend effectively.
- Support legal training and awareness initiatives within the business.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained in-house or in a reputable law firm.
- Strong experience in commercial contract law, preferably within the healthcare or life sciences sector.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities across different time zones and jurisdictions.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., German, French) are a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
