We’re agile sustainability experts that break daunting challenges into achievable, collaborative steps.
We’ve amassed diverse and deep experience over three decades, working with organisations spanning more industries than we can count.
And as a social enterprise, we’re committed to maximising our impact. We also devote time and resources to influencing policy and industry practices. In other words: we really mean it.
We are one of the UK’s original sustainability consultancies. Founded in 1994, we have been winning awards and working with partners to create cutting-edge solutions to sustainability for over 30 years.
We are at the forefront of best practice in developing local plan policies on net-zero carbon. We advance this work not just through our direct appointments to support local planning authorities, but also through collaboration with our network of relevant influential industry expert bodies on this topic, such as the UKNZCBS, LETI, the Good Homes Alliance and others.
Your new role: what’s involved?
We’re looking for a technical consultant to join our Sustainable Places team – a group of passionate, mission-driven professionals working with local authorities, developers and communities to shape places that are fit for the future.
Your primary focus will be on designing and developing solutions for existing buildings and advising on new developments to genuinely deliver on the climate emergency. This means working on everything from energy modelling and retrofit guidance to reviewing planning applications and delivering training in support of zero-carbon energy in the built environment.
We have built a strong reputation for our work in this area, and we have a growing pipeline of projects in this space, particularly supporting asset owners in developing robust retrofit strategies. This role will strengthen our technical capacity.
As part of a small and collaborative team, this role offers real variety, as well as the opportunity to help shape the places in which people live, work and thrive. This role requires flexibility to support a variety of work requirements, and you will bring skills and knowledge that help improve and expand the services that we offer.
Click ‘apply’ to discover more about the role and what’s required.
What’s in it for you?
1. Work-life balance: hybrid working from Europe’s largest climate tech cluster in central London
2. Diversity and inclusion: while others are rolling back, we’re dialling up our ambitions
3. Health and wellbeing: it’s a core part of who we are. And have we mentioned our 9-day fortnight trial?
4. Professional development budget: we want you to learn and progress as much as you do.
5. An ethical employer: we live our values in everything we do, from ethical pensions to sustainable lunches.
We positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity/gender expression, religion/belief, marital status, pregnancy stage, maternity/paternity status, or any other equality characteristic.
We foster a supportive, inclusive workplace where people can be themselves and achieve great things. We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion within our organisation – and we actively encourage applications from people of a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background. We want to grow our team with a wealth of diverse ideas, opinions and perspectives and want to hear from you if you believe you can contribute to this.
We can’t wait to hear from you.
