The Phorum Director is accountable for the member outcomes and performance of their Phorum. This role is accountable for ensuring the Phorum has a clear business plan that delivers concrete outcomes, member value, including strong member retention and Phorum profitability. The focus will be on ensuring key growth opportunities are identified, assessed and sufficient time is dedicated to developing them.
Working closely with the Senior Phorum Director to feedback industry insights, opportunities for broader Phorum expansion, thought leadership and clear examples of cross Phorum collaboration. This role is required to provide strong leadership across their Phorum, ensuring all team members have clear objectives, receive development support and future leaders are identified.
Key deliverables and accountabilities- Phorum leadership
- Develop the Phorum business plan, ensuring the Phorum delivers clear, tangible and quantifiable outcomes that demonstrate ROI for L1 and L2 groups.
- Ensure Phorum program remains within its scope and manage connections with other Phorums. Work closely with other Phorum Directors to connect industry themes.
- Create a collaborative team dynamic with clear goals and strong performance management and focus on development.
- Ensure team follows / uses consistent BioPhorum data, process, tools, materials and brand documents.
- Monitor and track workstreams to ensure they achieve the desired, timely outcomes.
- Monitor Phorum KPIs ensuring that action is taken to amplify successes and address concerns.
- Member Value
- Develop industry led, value based programme, with outputs driving industry change.
- Build and grow strategic relationships with L1 and 2 clients to support member insights and retention.
- Continually monitor the member relationships and satisfaction across your Phorum, addressing concerns and ensuring a quick resolution of risks and issues.
- Member Experience
- Ensure timely and thorough onboarding of each member company and participants.
- Ensure value-based account management and facilitation with consistent processes, tools and brand.
- Deliver high quality leadership and workstream virtual and F2F meetings and events – including robust review of meetings, outcomes and improvement opportunities.
- Thought leadership and connecting to industry
- Identify thought leadership outputs, materials, themes and opportunities to share with the industry via papers, speakers, round table discussions and webinars.
- Build relevant and timely connections to regulators and standards bodies.
- Phorum profitability and growth
- Develop robust business plans for Phorum growth, including resourcing models.
- Manage Phorum costs within agreed budget and profit targets including resources, events, member growth and renewals.
- Work closely with GRDs and commercial to manage renewals and pipeline opportunities.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making – Balances risks, costs and benefits, thinking about the wider impact of decisions.
- Commercial and Business Awareness – Able to assess and balance the financial, quality, people and member requirements to ensure Phorum value outcomes in a profitable context.
- Operational rigor – continual focus on operational rigor, ensuring adherence to core processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaboration – proactively works with Senior PDs, Commercial, Product and the wider teams to ensure member value is created and an environment that fosters cross team working is maintained.
- Communication – Demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, ability to synthesize commercial value of Phorum outcomes to multiple audiences.
