Biopax is a printed carton and label manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality packaging solutions in the FMCG industry. As a BRCGS certificated site, our commitment to quality, product safety, and sustainability drives our success. Reporting to the Quality Control Team Lead, the successful candidate will work as part of a growing team of Quality control technicians to support the day-to-day implementation of our quality control function within our manufacturing facility. This role is essential in upholding our commitment to providing quality products to our customers while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with promoting a strong quality culture within the company and provide support with quality culture activities.
  • Uphold site standards including adherence to PPE, Hygiene, Housekeeping.
  • Conduct visual inspections and perform functional quality checks at all stages of production.
  • Manage and control instances of non-conforming products and raw materials.
  • Complete routine quality circuit inspections to confirm that processes and checks are being adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, log non-conformities and quarantine product as applicable when required.
  • Inspect and maintain production samples in line with customer and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation, maintenance and review of production documentation, quality-related documentation, & SOPs.
  • Support the Compliance Manager and other departments within the company to investigate and identify root cause analysis / corrective actions for customer, supplier, and internal issues.
  • Assist with the company’s traceability system and provide support in testing it.
  • Provide support in preparing for external audits.
  • Carry out GMP, glass, brittle plastic, knife, and hygiene audits.
  • Other duties as and when required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 years proven experience within a similar FMCG / quality control role. (Experience gained within the food packaging industry is preferable, however not essential, as training can be provided).
  • Knowledge of the BRCGS packaging materials Standard would be advantageous.
  • HACCP qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Trained internal auditor would be advantageous but not essential.

  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to spot quality defects and follow detailed processes and procedures.
  • Ability to proactively use your own initiative and prioritise workloads whilst maintaining deadlines.
  • Ability to operate effectively and flexibly within a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid problem-solving and objective decision making, with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with sound interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both within the company and externally.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and report writing skills.
  • Competent IT Literacy, with proficiency in MS Office in particular Word, Excel, Outlook.
