The predicted salary is between 40500 - 49500 £ per year.

As part of a group finance team, this role will support the future growth and scaling of Biopax. The Accountant will be responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of financial information for the management team to use to enable them to make well-informed decisions, which will help to secure future stability, growth and profitability of the Organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Leading the implementation of Stock and Management information systems.
  • Cost accounting and maintenance of production order handling and inventory systems.
  • Review and analysis of production information.
  • Analysing financial performance and estimate/cost variance analysis.
  • Maintenance and review of financial ledgers.
  • Assistance with management of cash flow and accounting transactions including the reconciliation of bank accounts and cash books.
  • Assistance with annual financial audit.
  • Assistance in budgeting/forecasting, variance reporting and risk analysis.
  • Credit control management, including financial investigation processes.
  • Preparation of grant claims & statistical returns.
  • Recording and maintaining research & development and training programmes.
  • Completion of compliance returns to include VAT & intrastat returns.
  • Assistance with cash flow forecasting and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on the Company’s financial health and liquidity.
  • Compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Qualified or part qualified with experience of CAI, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years financial management experience.
  • Experience of preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Experience of cost accounting.
  • Experience maintaining integrated computerised management information systems.
  • Experience within manufacturing is desirable.

  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage operations and adapt processes within time and budgets.
  • Capacity to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced, challenging and unpredictable environment.
  • Excellent IT Literacy (MS Excel, PPT, Word) with spreadsheet and database skills.
  • Proficiency in a range of accounting software.
