The Role
We are looking for a Systems Realisation Engineer with hands-on experience in electronics, mechanical systems, and fluid/pneumatic systems . This role plays a key part in bridging design and implementation, ensuring our advanced space-based biotechnology platforms operate efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with electronics and testing , including system integration, wiring, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to support system design, assembly, and integration.
- Design, test, and implement fluid and pneumatic systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing in microgravity.
- Assist in prototyping and assembly , ensuring systems move smoothly from concept to final product.
- Support environmental testing , analysing results and making necessary design refinements.
- Work closely with engineers, biotechnologists, and space systems experts to ensure seamless integration of different system components.
- Identify and implement process improvements for assembly, testing, and system deployment.
About You
You are a problem-solver with strong technical expertise and practical experience in electronics, mechanics, and fluid systems . You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working on complex projects that push engineering and biotechnology boundaries.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in electronics and testing , including system wiring and troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering , materials, and structural integrity.
- Experience designing and working with fluid and pneumatic systems .
- Familiarity with prototyping, CNC machining, and mechanical assembly .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams , translating technical challenges into practical solutions.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in the space, aerospace, defence, or biotech industries.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Dassault 3D Experience for system design.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and manufacturing best practices .
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems for design tracking.
- Experience with environmental testing in extreme conditions.

Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working – remote flexibility during design phases, with on-site work required for assembly, testing, and launch preparations.
- Location – Initially based in Stevenage , transitioning to our new London office as we expand.
