The Role
As the Accounts Payable Team lead, you will oversee all aspects of accounts payable, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure robust cost control, insightful reporting, and efficient processes. You'll lead a small, high-performing team and play an integral role in driving operational improvements and strategic initiatives across our growing group of companies.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 2, setting objectives and ensuring professional development.
- Strategic Reporting: Provide insightful analysis of group overheads and other financial metrics to senior leadership.
- Process Ownership: Lead and improve accounts payable processes and systems. Maintain strong financial controls and audit readiness across AP processes.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor and analyse overhead budgets, driving cost efficiency.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage payment runs and short-term cash outflow forecasting in collaboration with Group FC and other team members.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and implement improvements to streamline team operations.
Location: Central London (Hybrid, 3 days a week in-office)
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience managing Accounts Payable within a high-volume, multi-entity group structure.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes (P2P / Purchase-to-Pay).
- Experience managing supplier payments, query resolution, and aged creditors.
- Ownership of month-end AP close (reconciliations, cut-off).
- Proven experience managing or mentoring a team.
- Advanced computer literacy, especially in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on challenges.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with senior stakeholders.
Nice to have's
- Being qualified or part-qualified accountant/AAT qualified with a strong technical background in finance, accounting, and audit would be advantageous.
- Experience with NetSuite finance system and AP automation tools would be advantageous.
