The Team

The Legal Team at biomodal provides comprehensive legal support and ensures compliance across all business operations. They collaborate with various departments, integrating legal considerations into strategic decisions, risk management, and business development. The team aims to stay ahead of industry regulations and foster a collaborative environment aligning legal and business goals.

The Role

As a General Commercial Lawyer, you will ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks across a range of commercial activities. Your responsibilities include:

1. Commercial Contracts & Legal Advisory:
   • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including supplier, collaboration, and licensing agreements.
   • Advise internal teams on legal issues related to business operations, including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and data protection.
   • Support business development initiatives, managing contractual and regulatory risks.
2. Regulatory & Compliance:
   • Monitor and interpret changes in legislation affecting the biotech industry.
   • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including IP, data protection (e.g., GDPR), and commercial laws.
   • Help develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures.
3. Dispute Resolution & Risk Management:
   • Identify and manage legal risks associated with business operations.
   • Support resolution of legal disputes, coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
   • Work with internal teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Collaborate with internal departments to incorporate legal considerations into business decisions.
   • Liaise with external legal advisors, regulators, and industry bodies as needed.
   • Provide training and guidance on legal and compliance matters.

The Person

We seek a skilled commercial lawyer with the following qualifications and competencies:

• Skills & Competencies:

• Strong commercial awareness and ability to align legal advice with business objectives.
• Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability and eagerness to stay updated on industry regulations.

• UK or US qualified attorney.
• Proven post-qualification industrial experience, ideally in a related industry.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
