Our team develops advanced solutions to interrogate the complex interplay of genomics and epigenomics. We have launched our first products, the duet +modC and duet evoC solutions, with more in development. This is an exciting opportunity to join an early-stage company at the forefront of science with significant growth potential. The Team The Protein Science team focuses on developing, characterizing, and engineering key enzymes for our assay platform. They collaborate across the company to ensure these enzymes are robust, specific, and scalable. Using established and innovative analytical methods, the team examines protein quality and function to deepen understanding and improve performance. The Role The Associate Scientist in the Protein Sciences team will focus on expression and purification of biomodal\’s core proteins, essential for our duet platform. Responsibilities include optimizing methodologies for yield, purity, and functionality using molecular biology and cell culture techniques. The role involves verification and certification of outputs, ensuring high-quality protein production with sustainable yields and continuous improvement. This position requires hands-on experience with high-throughput purification methods, ideally using the AKTA platform. The Person The ideal candidate will have: BSc/MSc or equivalent in molecular biology, biology, biochemistry, or related fields Experience with high-throughput protein purification (e.g., AKTA, plate-based systems) Confidence in basic lab methods such as cell culture, PCR, DNA extraction Experience with protein expression systems (bacterial, yeast, mammalian) Proven ability in protein purification A methodical, reproducible approach to work in a fast-paced environment Desirable skills include: Industrial experience Biophysical protein characterization (e.g., SDS-PAGE, HPLC, DLS, DSF) Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485:2016) Benefits Annual bonus scheme 10% pension 25 days annual leave Private medical and life insurance Additional Details Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Research, Analyst, and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
