About Biomodal
Join the multiomic revolution! Over the last 20 years, genomic technologies have enabled significant discoveries that bring the promise of personalised medicine closer than ever before. But after two decades of research, it’s clear that genetic variation only tells part of the story – biology is dynamic and more complex than A, C, T, G. The added information from a multiomic view of biology is yielding important insights into cancer, ageing, and neurological disease, and is poised to revolutionise how we understand health and disease beyond canonical variation in DNA.
biomodal is an omics-based life sciences technology and analytics company, delivering products that bring the dynamism of our ever-changing biology into focus. Our team is dedicated to developing the most advanced solutions to interrogate and understand the complex interplay of genomics and epigenomics.
We have launched our first products, the duet +modC and duet evoC solutions, with more in the pipeline, and we are looking to grow and evolve our business accordingly. This is an incredible opportunity to step into an exciting, early‑stage company at the cutting edge of science with exceptional growth and market impact potential.
Multiomics is the future – come and join the biomodal team!
The Team
The Assay Development (AD) function at biomodal is a focused group of technical specialists whose remit is to take concepts from our Discovery function and develop them into robust assays. A key part of this process is the developing the core assays that underpin our product from “proof‑of‑concept” to robust and reproducible. The AD team acts across assay validation and product development and forms the vital link between our technical and commercial teams.
The Role
This is primarily a laboratory-based role, with the focus being to support the ongoing assay validation and product stability studies. This would involve a heavy emphasis on DNA sequencing preparation and protocols centred on DNA extraction, clean‑up, and quantification. You’ll engage with senior scientists and bioinformaticians to understand the dynamics of biomodal’s duet technology and help support the product development pipeline.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the biosciences coupled with demonstrable experience working with NGS protocols. We are looking for scientists who have a mechanistic mind set and are more passionate about methods and tool development than the biology per se. At biomodal we are about giving powerful tools to our customers to help them understand epigenetics, and those tools need to be robust, simple to use, and effective. Working in Assay Development, you will be taking early‑stage innovation from our Discovery team and shaping it into biomodal’s products!
Key Requirements
- Proven experience with molecular assays (Protein-Protein, DNA Binding/Modification, NGS Library preparation, etc)
- Proven skills in DNA purification using bead-based methods.
- Methodical and quality‑driven approach to lab work.
- An agile mind‑set, happy with a fast‑moving environment with changing priorities.
Benefits
- Annual bonus scheme
- 10% pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave
- Private medical and life insurance
- Hybrid working
