How you’ll spend your day
As a Lead Developer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the technical direction of projects while remaining hands-on in delivery. You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the design and development of high-quality software solutions using C# and .NET
- Translating high-level architecture into scalable, practical implementations across APIs, services, and data layers
- Driving best practices across coding standards, testing, and development processes
- Designing and optimising solutions across Azure services, including databases and messaging platforms
- Leading containerisation and deployment using Kubernetes, alongside CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
- Implementing observability and monitoring using tools such as DataDog
- Acting as a technical leader and mentor, supporting and developing other engineers
- Collaborating closely with Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes
- Identifying and addressing technical debt, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting estimation, planning, and risk management across projects
What you’ll bring to this role
We’re looking for a technically strong Lead Developer who combines hands-on expertise with leadership capability. You’ll bring:
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior or Lead Developer working with C# and .NET
- Proven experience building and deploying solutions within Azure cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised applications
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar)
- Knowledge of cloud-based data and messaging technologies
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. DataDog)
You’ll also demonstrate:
- The ability to lead by example, setting standards through high-quality code
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- A passion for clean, maintainable code and continuous improvement
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other engineers
