How you’ll spend your day
This is a hands-on, client-facing Technical Business Analyst contract where you’ll play a key role in translating complex business requirements into clear, deliverable technical solutions. Working across discovery through to delivery, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders, architects and engineering teams to shape digital products spanning mobile applications, web platforms and APIs.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading discovery workshops to gather, challenge and define business requirements.
- Translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and functional solution designs.
- Producing process maps, user journeys, workflows, wireframes and prototypes to support solution design.
- Working closely with Technical Leads and developers to ensure solutions are technically feasible and aligned to business objectives.
- Managing and refining Agile backlogs, supporting sprint planning, estimation and prioritisation.
- Supporting API and integration analysis, including data flows, business rules and system interactions.
- Reviewing delivered functionality, supporting QA, UAT and ensuring solutions meet agreed business outcomes.
- Facilitating workshops, playback sessions and stakeholder meetings, acting as the bridge between technical teams and the business.
- Identifying risks, managing requirement changes and helping shape MVPs and phased delivery roadmaps.
What you’ll bring to this role
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst who is equally comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders as they are discussing technical solutions with development teams. You’ll have a proven track record delivering digital transformation projects and be confident working across the full project lifecycle.
You’ll ideally have:
- Extensive experience as a Technical Business Analyst delivering complex web, mobile and API-based solutions.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and solution design experience.
- The ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, structured and testable requirements.
- Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, wireframes and functional specifications.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and backlog management.
- Experience supporting QA, UAT and solution validation throughout delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, with the confidence to engage senior business leaders and technical teams alike.
- Good technical understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, authentication and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Figma, Lucidchart or similar.
- A proactive, consultative approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced delivery environments.
Desirable experience:
- Experience working with AI-assisted analysis or documentation tools.
- Knowledge of API documentation standards (OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Experience with responsive web applications, mobile solutions and accessibility best practices.
- Exposure to analytics, telemetry or data-driven product decisions.
