How you’ll spend your day

As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising modern data platforms within a cloud-first environment, working across both batch and real-time data solutions.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory
  • Developing robust data solutions using Python, PySpark, and T-SQL for transformation and orchestration
  • Implementing data ingestion frameworks across multiple sources (APIs, files, streaming, CDC)
  • Designing and maintaining data models (star schema, snowflake, medallion architecture) optimised for analytics and reporting
  • Collaborating closely with BI teams to ensure data models support Power BI and downstream analytics use cases
  • Building and maintaining Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions within Microsoft Fabric
  • Ensuring data quality, governance, and security standards are implemented across platforms
  • Monitoring and optimising performance across pipelines, databases, and data platforms
  • Supporting CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows
  • Working with cross-functional teams (Data, BI, AI, and stakeholders) to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Contributing to architecture decisions and evolving the overall data platform strategy

What you’ll bring to this role

We’re looking for a technically strong Data Engineer with experience across modern cloud data platforms and a passion for building high-quality, scalable solutions.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in data engineering, data modelling, and pipeline development
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services (ADF, Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks)
  • Proficiency in Python / PySpark and T-SQL for data processing and optimisation
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, including orchestration and monitoring
  • Solid understanding of data modelling techniques (Kimball, star schema, medallion architecture)
  • Experience working with batch and streaming data pipelines
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps and Git
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices (RBAC, GDPR, data quality frameworks)
  • Experience collaborating with BI teams, with working knowledge of Power BI and DAX concepts
