What will be your role at bioMérieux? Do you want to support the scientific medical strategy of specific diagnostic solutions, providing up-to-date medical information to critical care and emergency department physicians? Are you passionate about scientific communication, medical education, engaging in scientific exchange, and managing key stakeholders (KOLs)? If this sounds like you, and you want an opportunity to grow and learn then you could be our next Medical Scientific Liaison, accountable for our syndromic solutions, AMR/AMS and Sepsis bioMérieux diagnostic solutions across the UK & Ireland. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, expand your expertise, and develop your career within Medical Affairs and the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry.
Reporting to the Medical Affairs Associate Director for UK & Ireland, you will work closely with our commercial team to provide operational and medical support, as well as identify, leverage, and maintain relationships with infectious disease, critical and acute care Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Your goal will be to strengthen the scientific image of bioMérieux as a leader in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. You will develop creative and innovative approaches to address barriers to clinical adoption within targeted hospitals and support evidence generation through company-sponsored post-market studies and investigator-initiated trials. You will work closely with our other MSL, who is based in Scotland, and you will ideally be based in the South of England.
About You
You will have an advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) and relevant industry experience is desirable. Previous MSL experience is strongly desirable but not essential. You must have experience in infectious diseases, emergency medicine or intensive care along with a professional reputation for engaging effectively with healthcare professionals in the field. You must possess strong communication and presentation skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams. A business and customer-oriented mindset is important. This is a field-based role requiring travel to meet customers and internal teams.
