About the Opportunity
Bio Marin’s Finance organization plays a critical role in enabling our business strategy, supporting disciplined investment decisions, and helping the company deliver on its commitment to patients.
The team partners across functions and geographies to provide financial insight, planning rigor, operational accountability, and strategic decision support.
The Senior Director, Commercial FP&A, EUCAN Region is a key finance leadership role responsible for revenue planning, forecasting, performance management, and OPEX oversight for an approximately $1B regional business.
This individual will serve as the primary Finance business partner to the Regional SVP and will sit on the EUCAN regional leadership team.
The role will provide strategic financial leadership, business insight, and operational discipline to support commercial execution, resource allocation, and long‑term value creation across the region.
This leader will also lead and develop a team of five individual contributors and will be expected to build strong partnerships across Commercial, Finance, and enterprise stakeholders.
- Leadership Responsibility
- Serve as the primary Finance business partner to the Regional SVP, providing strategic counsel, financial insights, and decision support across the EUCAN Region.
- Act as a core member of the regional leadership team, helping shape business strategy, investment priorities, and performance management routines.
- Lead revenue planning, forecasting, and performance management processes for an ~$1B regional business, including monthly and quarterly business reviews, variance analysis, forecast updates, and risk and opportunity assessments.
- Partner with commercial leadership to understand revenue drivers, pricing dynamics, market trends, country‑level performance, and portfolio opportunities and risks.
- Lead OPEX planning, forecasting, and management across the region, ensuring spending is aligned with strategic priorities, business needs, and financial commitments.
- Support disciplined resource allocation by evaluating investment choices, trade‑offs, productivity opportunities, and ROI expectations.
- Translate complex business and financial information into clear insights, recommendations, and narratives for senior leadership.
- Drive consistency, accuracy, and rigor in financial planning assumptions, reporting, and performance insights across countries and business units.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of five individual contributors, building capability, engagement, accountability, and career growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, ownership, inclusion, and strategic thinking within the regional FP&A team.
Experience Required
- Significant experience in commercial finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or related finance leadership roles, preferably within a complex, matrixed, multinational organization.
- Demonstrated experience supporting regional or business‑unit leadership teams and partnering with senior commercial executives.
- Strong understanding of revenue planning, forecasting, OPEX management, P&L dynamics, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing finance talent.
- Experience operating as a strategic finance business partner with the ability to influence decisions, challenge assumptions, and communicate insights clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
